Rachel Prescott, Ph.D.

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Moreno lab. My research interests involve studying the factors that drive Vibrio vulnificus pathogenicity, and how this emerging bacteria interacts with the human host. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA, and my PhD in the lab of Drs. Victor Torres and Meike Dittmann at New York University.

Outside of the lab, I enjoy running marathons and rescuing animals off the streets of Memphis – I’m currently up to two cats and a dog but have had various other animals living in my bathroom since moving here (please don’t tell my landlord).
