I am a Scientist in the Moreno Lab, where I study the molecular mechanisms by which Vibrio cholerae rapidly adapts to changing environments. My research focuses on sensory proteins such as ToxR and ToxS, which respond to environmental stimuli like bile acids and activate survival strategies, including bile resistance and the regulation of virulence. I am broadly interested in bacterial pathogenesis, particularly how bacteria interact with both the host and the surrounding environment.
Before joining the Moreno Lab, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania, where I studied the molecular mechanisms underlying Vibrio cholerae colonization of the intestinal tract and its interactions with other members of the gut microbiota.
